NBC Announces 1,210 Hours of Olympic Coverage

NBC will be broadcasting 1,210 hours of Olympics come August. This includes showing events on MSNBC, CNBC Bravo, and USA. USA itself will show 3 hours of Olympic programming every morning. Telemundo will show 7 hours of Spanish speaking coverage every day from 1-8pm Eastern. Many events will be shown live on the smaller channels but the big events such as basketball and gymnastics will be shown on tape delay during Prime Time so it looks like you won't be able to sneak a peek at the most popular events.

The really cool thing to me is that this time around, all 28 sports will be covered, not just a handful, like we usually see. NBC knows this is risky but I applaud the decision. I mean how many boxing matches can one person stand in a 3 week period? I hope they get a good response from the added sports coverage so it will be carried in the future.

If you have NBC HDTV, you lucky bastards will get 24 hour Olympic programming! Can I come camp out at your house during the games?
