Live! From New York!
So it turns out that the studio where Saturday Night Live is shot is now divvied up into small broadcasting booths. NBC gets live HD feed from China and the broadcasters do the play by play stateside. They are not trying to be sneaky about it. When I was watching Women's softball last night, they were very honest about the fact that the broadcasters were in NY. The broadcasters claim it feels different not being there and being only able to show exactly what's on the feed but all in all it seems to be working well.
Sports being called from the US include archery, badminton, baseball, equestrian, fencing, field hockey, handball, shooting, soccer, softball, table tennis, tennis and weight lifting.
